Product Description
The screw is the main core component of the injection molding machine. The quality of the screw determines the quality of the product.
The plasticizing screw of the injection molding machine has the functions of conveying, melting, mixing, compressing, metering and exhausting, and is a key factor affecting the quality of plasticizing.
Injection Molding Machine Screw Material Classification
  • HPT Fully Hardened Powder Alloy Screw: Made of tungsten-cobalt powder alloy tool steel with overall hardening. Hardness reaches HRC65°. Suitable for transparent products, precision products, and high-temperature corrosive plastics like LCP, PES, PPA with fiber.
  • Double Alloy Screw: Uses SACM645 and 38CrMoAlA base material with tungsten carbide nickel-based alloy spray. Surface hardness HRC60°. Suitable for transparent products and engineering materials like PA6, PA66 with fiber.
  • Electroplating Screw: SACM645 and 38CrMoAlA base materials with hard chromium, nickel, or titanium plating. Hardness HRC60°. Suitable for PC, PMMA, PET transparent materials and corrosive U-PVC materials.
  • Stainless Steel Screw: Made from 9Cr18MoV special stainless tool steel with overall quenching and hardening. Overall hardness HRC55°.
  • SKD61 Screw: Made from Hitachi SKD61 material with special processing for excellent toughness and torsion resistance.
  • Ordinary Nitrided Screw: Uses SACM645 and 38CrMoAlA base material with special processing. Nitride depth 0.5-0.8mm, hardness HV980~1080°. Suitable for ordinary plastics like PP, ABS, PS, AS, PVC.
Injection Molding Machine Screw Segmentation
The screw of an injection molding machine is generally divided into three sections: feeding section, compression section, and homogenizing section (metering section). Different screws have varying proportions, groove depths, and transition forms.
  • Feeding Section: Fixed groove depth section responsible for preheating, conveying, and pushing plastic solids. Ensures plastic begins melting at the end of this section.
  • Compression Section: Tapering groove depth section for melting, mixing, shearing compression, and pressurized exhaust. Plastic completely dissolves here with volume shrinkage. Compression ratio design is critical.
  • Homogenizing Section: Fixed groove depth section for mixing, melt transportation, and metering. Provides pressure to maintain uniform melt temperature and stable flow rate.
